The authors, Michael Townes and John Finnegan, took their experiences Selling and Managing Sales in the business world and created an Educational Journey for Small Business Owners to learn the key elements of selling in their market, increasing their revenue levels and improving their business performance.
Michael Townes loves sales and helping small business owners succeed. He fell in love with sales when he won his first sleeping bag when he was a Cub Scout. Since then he has spent the last 30+ years starting and leading successful sales teams in technology and hospitality. He has a passion for helping entrepreneurs discover their inner Sales Professional. He wrote this book with Steve and John to "pay it forward" to the hard working small business owners who are the backbone of American exceptionalism. Many who come up with a great idea but struggle to differentiate themselves in a highly competitive world. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with an emphasis in Marketing.
Michael dedicates this book to all his mentors who have supported him along the way. He thanks his wife Ginger and four children Amanda, Brandon, Courtney and Delenay for their support and love.
John Finnegan has been in the corporate world for 40+ years. Most of this time he held responsibility for sales growth and revenue performance. He's worked in Senior roles with two large corporations which create billions of dollars of annual sales and revenue. He held roles as Corporate Sales Training Manager, Regional Sales Director, and Regional Sales Vice President. John also founded two small businesses in Central Florida and ran a third Florida-based business as President. For the past 5 years John has invested back into the business community by working as a Business Consultant with his own firm, Sales Pro Consulting, and with Florida's SBDC. John's formal business education includes a BBA and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
John and his wife Marjorie live very happily in Winter Springs, FL and enjoy traveling to interesting locations.
Two career Sales Professionals began sharing their thoughts of what Sales Tactics work best in the current market. They realized quickly that they were both speaking the same language and their ideas were aligned. Working together, they created Not Just Another Sales Book that documents a Winning Sales Approach.
